Canton South teacher Nancy Miller named District 8 Teacher of the Year

CANTON TWP. – Nancy Q. Miller could have chosen not to return to her Canton South High School science classroom last school year. As a breast cancer survivor still taking medication, she could have claimed a medical exemption that prevented her from teaching face-to-face due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  But she returned, knowing that her students needed someone to help sort out what they were hearing about the new coronavirus. “There was so much fear and unknown with what was going on with the pandemic that I felt like I had to be here,” said Miller, who has taught at Canton Local Schools since 2009. “I was here. They were here. We made it happen.”
