Minnesota Twins 2021 Top 50 Prospects

0 Shares The Minnesota Twins and their farm system have both been highly regarded for quite some time due to their depth and their ability to build a solid foundation within. Over the years, they turned their inability to spend on marquee free agents into gold by creating their own strong core of players set to break out, while establishing a routine of development to move onto the next. Essentially, they spent money on themselves so that they wouldn’t necessarily have to spend an excess of money on others. It’s something that all smaller markets should consider because, if it’s done right, it makes those free agents actually want to come and play for the smaller market team.

Arizona Diamondbacks 2021 Top 50 Prospects

0 Shares The Diamondbacks system is vastly underrated. The group includes top-end talent, flame-throwers, high-floor guys, and everything else in between. What’s even better is that there are plenty of very fantasy-friendly prospects here as well. From Corbin Carroll’s 20/30 potential to Kristian Robinson’s 40 home run ceiling to Alek Thomas’s all-around game, there are fantasy gems all over the place. Recently the D-Backs have placed an emphasis on hard-throwing draft picks, and those guys are sprinkled throughout the system too. Looking further down on the list shows some very safe bets, meaning there are likely many future major leaguers here. Granted, they may not become superstars, but there are regulars, utility guys, and solid bullpen options here to pick from. There is a lot to like and it’s starting to rival any of the top-end farm systems. With the team still acquiring prospects, it should only continue to get better in 2021.

Mets announce six minor league signings

Brad Mills-USA TODAY Sports The Mets announced six minor league signings this afternoon: LHP Jerry Blevins, RHP Jerad Eichoff, LHP Tom Windle, INF Wilfredo Tovar, LHP Camrin Opp, and C Jose Colina. The first four of those players received invitations to spring training. Jerry Blevins is arguably the highest profile signing of the sextet, as the 37 year-old veteran has spent 13 solid years in the majors, split between the Athletics, Nationals, Mets, and most recently the Braves in 2019 he spent the entirety of 2020 as a free agent after being cut by the Giants in March. Blevins spent four years in Queens, though he spent most of 2015 on the shelf after fracturing his arm on a comebacker, and re-fracturing his arm after slipping and falling on a curb. Blevins will bring a career 3.54 ERA to the table.
