Mark Pocan (WI-02) announced the initial approval of $18 million in member-designated (earmarked) surface transportation project requests for Wisconsin’s 2nd Congressional District by the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure. These projects were included in the Committee chair’s manager’s amendment for the comprehensive surface transportation authorization bill which is expected to move forward in the coming months to the full House for consideration.
“I am proud that the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure has approved $18 million in surface transportation projects across the 2
nd Congressional District,”
said Congressman Pocan. “I have witnessed firsthand the need for critical investments in our roads and bridges, and I know this funding would be instrumental in providing the infrastructure that Wisconsinites need and deserve.”

Saputo reports $103.1M Q4 profit, up from $88.7M a year ago, revenue down

MONTREAL Saputo Inc. reported a profit of $103.1 million in its latest quarter, up from a profit of $88.7 million in the same quarter last year, as its revenue fell 7.5 per cent.
The cheese and dairy producer says the profit amounted to 25 cents per diluted share for the quarter ended March 31, up from 22 cents per diluted share a year ago.
The company says a decrease in international cheese and dairy ingredient market prices hurt its revenues.
Revenue for what was the company’s fourth quarter totalled $3.44 billion, down from $3.72 billion in the same quarter last year.
