RICHMOND, Ind. Police said a dispute over a driveway led to the shooting death of a man in Richmond Thursday night.
Officers responded to the 1400 block of New Paris Pike shortly before 7 p.m. to investigate a possible shooting.
Officers located two people shot.
Police said 46-year-old John Dee Day died at the scene.
Brenda Day, 72, was transported to Reid Hospital with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
Police said an ongoing dispute over a driveway led to a fight and then the shooting.
Police arrested 41-year-old Elick Tywayne Allen on a preliminary arrest charge of murder and attempted murder.
Two airlifted following head-on collision

NEW MADISON Multiple injuries were reported Monday afternoon following a head-on collision on the outskirts of New Madison that had two people airlifted from the scene.
At approximately 3 p.m., emergency personnel from the New Madison Fire Department, Tri-Village Rescue, Arcanum Rescue, NorthWest EMS, MedFlight and CareFlight responded along with deputies from the Darke County Sheriff’s Office to the 2000 block of Mills Road in reference to a two-vehicle injury crash with entrapment.
According to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office, a silver 2002 Buick LeSabre, driven by Amos Weimer, 17, of New Madison, was traveling eastbound on Mills Road. Weimer, for unknown reasons, lost control of his vehicle and drove off the right side of the roadway while negotiating a curve, then over-corrected causing his vehicle to travel left of center. CONNERSVILLE, Ind. The Fayette County Coroner has released the identity of a man killed in an elevator accident last week at a school in Connersville.
State investigators with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Indiana Occupational Safety and Health Administration (IOSHA) are now looking into how and why 67-year-old George June died on Thursday.
The coroner is awaiting toxicology results before determining an official cause of death.
The deadly accident happened Thursday afternoon around 1 p.m. at St. Gabriel Catholic School in Connersville.

. But just a few days before the event, only six people had signed up.
While the lack of interest concerned county health workers, it did not surprise them.
Over the past few weeks they have noticed a steep drop in interest in the COVID-19 vaccine. About 20% of the county’s population over the age of 16 has been fully been vaccinated, placing Miami among the state’s counties with the lowest percentage of vaccinated adults. The county stretches along U.S. 31 north from Kokomo.
“It’s crazy,” said Miami County Health Officer Dr. James Rudolph, who has discussed with colleagues what might lie behind the low rate. “We don’t have a good answer.”
