DCCI urges Egypt to import more products from Bangladesh

Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) President Rizwan Rahman has urged Egyptian businesses to import cotton, knitwear, woven garments, footwear, pharmaceuticals and ceramic products from Bangladesh.
DCCI president came up with the call at a meeting with Egyptian ambassador to Bangladesh Haytham Ghobhashy at DCCI office in the city on Wednesday.
DCCI senior vice-president NKA Mobin, Deputy Head of Mission of Egypt Embassy Mariam M Ragaei and vice president, DCCI Monowar Hossain were present during the meeting.
The trade gap between Bangladesh and Egypt was $ 33.54 million in 2019-20 fiscal when Bangladesh’s export to Egypt was $28.36 million against $61.9 million import from there. Jute is the major export item from Bangladesh.

Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) today suggested forming a specialised bank or fund along with formulation of cottage, micro, small and medium enterprises (CMSMEs) act, to recover losses the economy faced due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
