Family members touch a coffin of a relative, who was killed in a blast outside a public park on Sunday, during a funeral in Lahore, Pakistan, March 28, 2016. | (Photo: Reuters/Mohsin Raza) A Christian man in Pakistan was allegedly poisoned and killed by a group of radical Muslims for defending his sister from harassment, which has sparked demands for justice.  Arif Masih, 32, was beaten, kidnapped, poisoned and abandoned on the street in the Muslim-majority Tariqabad village of the Punjab province on May 23, the Union of Catholic Asian News reported.  Earlier in the week, two young men dragged his sister into the street and stripped her naked after following her home from the store and breaking into the home.

(Photo courtesy of Akmal Bhatti) More than 300 mourners protested for several hours alongside the body of a Christian laborer allegedly poisoned by Muslims as officials urged them to bury their dead. “O Lord we are helpless” and “Injustice with Christians” stated placards as villagers from Tariqabad blocked a major road near Gojra city of Pakistan’s Punjab province on May 24 demanding registration of a police case for the killing of 32-year-old Arif Masih, who was kidnapped on May 23.

Two men found dead

Two men found dead March 8, 2021 Two people were found dead in the metropolis on Sunday. The body of a man was found on the Sea View beach within the limits of the Darakhshan Police Station. After getting information, police and rescuers reached the scene and transported the body to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for an autopsy. The deceased was identified as 60-year-old Ashraf Masih, son of Rizwan Masih. Police said Ashraf was a resident of Akhtar Colony and drowned while bathing. Separately, another man was found lifeless near the Native Jetty bridge within the limits of the Jackson Police Station. His body was transported to the Civil Hospital Karachi where the man was identified as 45-year-old Latif, son of Rafiq. Police said the man had apparently died a natural death, but they were investigating to ascertain the cause of death.
