Creating fuels Alexandra Sedlak. Whether it’s music or film, she’s not afraid to push boundaries and explore. As we continue celebrating Women’s History Month, I wanted to feature this award winning filmmaker, actor, singer-songwriter and business owner. She’s been releasing singles over the past couple of years and producing and directing music videos as well. Originally from Toledo, Ohio, Nashville’s been home for a while now. It’s where she met her creative collaborator, Warren Smythe while they were both working at a small record label on Music Row. She currently co-owns and operates Nashville-based production company, GOLDFOX.
In August 2020, Chad Cheek wanted to do something to help the arts community that had been suffering for months because of the pandemic. So he created Artarie, a curated streaming media platform.
Artarie, pronounced âar-ter-y,â debuted Feb. 12. The platform focuses on arts and cultural content for television, computer and mobile devices. This includes world premieres, live and recorded performances, online classes, lectures and exclusive content.
Through conversations with people on the various boards of directors of arts organizations he serves on, it became clear to Cheek late last summer that organizations were struggling to figure out ways to keep busy.

The Film Festival Alliance and Theatrical-At-Home presents its first Film Festival Day virtual screening event of 2021 following the culmination of the hugely successful FilmEx gathering event including 850 participating film festivals and film organizations with Ashley OâShayâs inspiring documentary UNAPOLOGETIC with a special Filmmaker Q&A on Saturday, January 16. FFAâs Film Festival Day screenings, which were launched last year to great effect, benefit both the filmmakers and each of the participating film festivals across the country with a share of the eveningâs proceeds. Support for the event also comes from Firelight Films and Kartemquin Films.
