Keselowski will assume the driving duties in the iconic No. 6 that was made famous with Jack Roush behind the wheel. In the announcement, Newmark commented that discussions are in process to determine if the current driver of the No. 6, Ryan Newman, will race in a part time role for next year - but the operation will remain at two fulltime rides.

Change is extraordinarily rare at Team Penske, particularly in regards to its flagship No. 2 car. Hall of Famer Rusty Wallace piloted the No. 2 from 1991 through 2005 and amassed 37 of his 55 career wins in it. Kurt Busch stepped into the ride in 2006 and drove the car to eight wins before switching to the No. 22 car after 2010.
Keselowski was Busch’s replacement in 2011. His rise was meteoric and critical to the organization, leading the program to its first Cup Series championship in 2012.

As NASCAR pauses so that America can watch the Olympics, the drivers have a great opportunity to catch their collective breath and prepare for the last four races of the regular season.
Last week’s win by the longshot Aric Almirola keeps the field in a state where more than 16 winners might occur in the regular season. At this moment there are three slots remaining to be filled and four races to be run on the road courses of Watkins Glen International and at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, plus Michigan International Speedway and the ultimate wild card, aero-restricted superspeedway of Daytona International Speedway.

Last year was a memorable one for Stewart Haas Racing, with Kevin Harvick providing most of the highlights for the team throughout 2020. It’s been well documented that 2021 has been far less kind to the SHR quartet, but if anyone could break through and lead the return to victory lane, it’d be Harvick, right?
Wrong. Aric Almirola took advantage of a bizarre, rain slicked start that removed some of the heaviest competition to score his first Cup win in nearly three years. It was also the first of the year for perennial contender SHR.
