At some point, Minnesota Timberwolves President of Basketball Operations Gersson Rosas needed to usher his front office contingent and the entire on-court squad down the fire escape and flee from the inferno that was raging on throughout Ryan Saunders’ tenure as head coach. Of course, Rosas himself was responsible for some of the misplaced kindling, maybe even the sparked match as well, but Rosas was always going to sacrifice his head coach first before voluntarily putting himself on the chopping block.

I remember lying in bed when the news of Ryan Saunders’ firing broke. “Well, they finally did it,” I thought. No one who was following the Minnesota Timberwolves this season should be surprised Saunders was eventually let go.
You can have the worst record in the NBA without Karl-Anthony Towns, but you cannot have a 1-6 record in his first seven games back, too. It seems Gersson Rosas waited for Towns to return and things still didn’t improve. It’s not like the team was getting rolled every night, but blowing winnable games late due to questionable coaching decisions likely didn’t sit any better.

44% of Canis Hoopus gave Ryan Saunders and his coaching staff a failing grade so it appears that Gers has taken notice of our input. Finally, a GM who listens to his internet critics! I’m assuming the C grade that he earned will be increasing in Canis Pulus Volume 6 - First Semester Grades.
