Two big announcements in the last couple of weeks mean major changes are coming in what we drive and how we fuel up.
First, President Joe Biden wants to replace the federal government s fleet of 645,000 vehicles with electric cars. Also, General Motors wants to sell nothing but zero-emission cars and trucks by 2035.
It s a good thing we have time because electric car owners say there are just not enough places in Wisconsin where they can plug in.

The WCA, is a lobbying and consulting organization for counties in the state. Lobbying state government on behalf of counties is a huge part of what it does. Some on the county board and in county government feel like the association, to which it is a dues-paying member, does not represent Milwaukee’s interests and at times actively works against it.

One panelist,
Wendel Hruska, a re-entry specialist with Project Return, emphasized the need for housing support for formerly incarcerated people returning to the community. “Without stable housing, everything else sort of falls apart,” Hruska said. “So when we’re talking about trying to expand mental health services here in the Milwaukee area, or when we’re talking about employment opportunities, everything else kind of hovers around the opportunity to have stable housing.”
