One of the juiciest headlines of the 2021 offseason has been the burgeoning student/teacher relationship between Hall-of-Famer Peyton Manning and Denver Broncos quarterback Drew Lock. Manning wore the Orange and Blue for four years, leading the Broncos to four straight division titles and two Super Bowl berths before winning it all in 2015 and promptly riding off into the sunset.
Four years later, and many signal-callers in between, the Broncos drafted Lock in the second round out of Missouri. Lock hit the roster behind Joe Flacco and injured the thumb on his throwing hand in the team s third preseason game, which saw him placed on injured reserve.

According to The Denver Post’s Ryan O’Halloran, the Denver Broncos have added to their tight end depth by signing veteran tight end Eric Saubert.

Saubert is a 6’5”, 243lb tight end who is entering his fifth NFL season and has played for the Atlanta Falcons, Chicago Bears, and Jacksonville Jaguars during that time. He’s been used as an in-line blocker in the past and could be looked to do that for the Broncos this upcoming season. During the Broncos post-draft presser. General Manager George Paton did mention their need for a tight end, so this signing makes sense.

At 239, #Broncos will be going with Ohio State LB Jonathon Cooper. Ryan O Halloran (@ryanohalloran) May 1, 2021
Cooper doesn’t have elite size and speed for the NFL, but he makes up for it with intelligence. As an edge rusher in college, he had a solid first step and could bend off the edge to beat opponents to the quarterback. He looks like a good special teams addition with potential to work on his craft to play outside linebacker under Vic Fangio.

The
Denver Broncos have selected LSU cornerback Kary Vincent with their 237th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
#Broncos at No. 237 will be taking LSU CB Kary Vincent. Ryan O Halloran (@ryanohalloran) May 1, 2021
As a COVId-19 opt out, Vincent did not play last season. He is a consistent cornerback with solid fluid motion in his technique. He struggles sometimes with bigger receivers and isn’t strong in run support. Overall, though he looks like a an underrated pick up for the Broncos in the seventh round. He ran a 4.38 40-yard dash at his pro day.
What do you think of the Broncos pick up Kary Vincent in the seventh round here?
