Michigan man accused of killing wife with shotgun, hiding body

SOUTHGATE, MI – A man is accused of killing his wife and hiding her body before filing a missing persons report earlier this month.
The body of 31-year-old Amanda Marie Hilton was found in a field near the Southgate apartment where she lived with her husband, according to a news release from the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office. Ryan Arthur Hilton, 32, is charged with murder, tampering with evidence and felony firearm in the death of his wife.
On Jan. 1, Ryan Hilton reported his wife was missing from their apartment in Lacolonade Apartments near Northline Road and Fordline Street in the Metro Detroit suburb, authorities said. He told police she was last seen at their apartment on Dec. 31, 2020.
Southgate man charged with murder in wife s shooting
A 32-year-old Southgate man has been charged in connection with his wife s murder, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy announced Thursday.
Ryan Arthur Hilton is charged with first-degree murder, tampering with evidence, and two counts of felony firearm in the death of 31-year-old Amanda Marie Hilton.
Ryan Hilton was arraigned Thursday in 28th District Court in Southgate and remanded to jail. Hilton s probable cause conference is scheduled for Jan. 15.
Hilton contacted the Southgate Police Department Jan. 1 to report his wife missing from their apartment in the 14500 block of Northline, according to the prosecutor s office. She was last seen at the Hiltons apartment Dec. 31.

SOUTHGATE, Mich. (FOX 2) - Southgate police have arrested a 32-year-old man for the death of his wife.
Ryan Arthur Hilton was arraigned on charges for the shooting death of Amanda Hilton - including first degree murder, tampering with evidence and weapons charges -Thursday in district court.

Police say on Jan. 1, 2021, Ryan Hilton contacted the Southgate police to report that his wife was missing from their apartment in the 14500 block of North Line and that she was last seen at their apartment on New Year s Eve.
It is alleged that on December 31, 2020 that he had an argument with his wife and fatally shot her with a shotgun, removing her body to a field with tall grass near a dumpster by their apartment.
