Pete Wentz is the King of the L A Tennis Scene

An unlikely tabloid fixture has emerged this past year, with all the flair and panache of prime Andre Agassi: Pete Wentz, playing tennis. And boy, does he play tennis. He plays wearing Spirit of Halloween merch in the middle of December. He plays it with his buddy Gavin Rossdale (and Rossdale’s cheerful Pomeranian). He plays so much, in fact, that he says he’ll often spend up to six hours picking up games in the park, bouncing from some hitting with Zach Braff to a full match of doubles with the 60-something guys hanging out. The Fall Out Boy bassist, who’s hopped in and out of the public eye in the two decades since he founded the band, has evolved into that lovable type of low-key celebrity who just seems like he d be a good hang. He pals around the courts, films TikToks with his kids, maintains a little vertical garden at his house, and generally does his own thing, while continuing to put out music with one of the most enduring emo bands around. These days, he’s gearing

Rob Dyrdek Meditates in a $15,000 Dome

“This is way too deep to write about!” Rob Dyrdek tells me in the SoCal drawl that’s dominated MTV airwaves for the past two decades. He’s just reached the end of a lengthy tangent on the cutting-edge therapies he uses to track muscle damage in his body, having already caught me up to speed on his meditation dome and the supplement-saturated “super-shake” he fixes himself every day. We ve covered Mindright, his new brand of superfood bars, his life-optimizing crystals, and his “no negative thoughts” mantra. And sure, it’s definitely strange to hear a voice typically reserved for howling at disastrous home videos on

Patrick Schwarzenegger Is Trying to Gain 27 Pounds for his 27th Birthday

Patrick Schwarzenegger is having a time zone problem. He’s in a 500-person text chain of people who’ve made a suicide pact-esque commitment to wake up at 5 a.m. to work out for 50 days. The problem is, not everyone’s on the West Coast. So now his phone is blowing up at all hours of the night as the gym selfies roll in. He knows he could have some automated program handle the texting for him but then, he says, “it wouldn’t be personable.” The commitment to his fellow risers and grinders is all part of a 27-pound goal he set on his 27th birthday last year. He cuts a pretty slim figure compared to his Governator father Arnold started his career pumping iron, Patrick began as a model, and doesn’t have any plans to truly bulk up unless it’s for a role. But after two years on the bench, thanks to a gnarly shoulder injury that eventually required surgery, Schwarzenegger knew he needed to set goals if he wanted to get back on the horse. So he’s hitting the gym, and he’s

Edgar Berlanga Gets Ready to Fight With Chocolate Chip Pancakes

When you hear the legendary boxing promoter Bob Arum comparing one of his own young fighters to Mike Tyson, you might be tempted to roll your eyes. But consider this: Since turning pro in 2016, none of Edgar Berlanga’s 16 opponents have made it to the second round. The 23-year-old Brooklyn boxer has an average career fight time of 98.8 seconds. Chew on that for a second and see if his nickname, The Chosen One, doesn t suddenly makes a lot of sense.  Given the dominant a start, it might strike some as a surprise that Berlanga wants the challenge of boxing for more than a round. But like any great fighter, he wants to showcase the technical skills and IQ that his heavy right and left hooks have left him unable to up to this point. In a sport that’s lately been craving star power, Berlanga is on his way to being the next big draw.
