New Mexico United gave up two second-half goals in a 2-1 road loss to El Paso Locomotive FC Saturday night. It was United’s (4-5-2) third consecutive loss after scoring first, and ended a fruitless three-game road swing with previous losses at Colorado Springs (June 26) and at Real Monarchs SLC (Wednesday).

Symphony on Your Porch
The event is back for a second time, allowing El Paso County residents to enjoy firework shows from the comfort of their front porch. Organized by the Colorado Springs Sports Corporation, the event includes music performed by the Colorado Springs Philharmonic and firework displays across El Paso County.
A fast start unraveled into a frustrating finish for New Mexico United on Wednesday night.
Host Real Monarchs SLC overcame a 2-0 deficit and largely controlled the second half of a 3-2 victory over United in Herriman, Utah. New Mexico’s streak of five straight wins at Zions Bank Stadium ended as the youthful Monarchs controlled most of the second half.
Daniel Bruce and Andrew Tinari hammered in long-range goals for United (4-4-2), which appeared to have things well under control for the first 30 minutes. But the Monarchs (2-5-4) answered with two long blasts of their own along with a 1-on-1 score inside the box to turn the tables on the visitors.

New Mexico United’s summer Deja Vu Tour continues Wednesday night in Herriman, Utah.
The team’s performance against Real Monarchs SLC will be the second of three straight road shows in venues United has already played this season. NMU made an encore visit to Colorado Springs on Friday and has a return engagement in El Paso scheduled for Saturday.
It’s a challenging stretch of three matches in eight days for New Mexico, which dropped the opener of the trip, 3-1, in Colorado Springs. United would likely be content to repeat its most recent performance in Utah – a 1-0 victory on June 4 – but coach Troy Lesesne expects a different show Wednesday night.
