Porsche Begins Testing The First 911 Hybrid

The question just shifted from if to when. With the Taycan currently outselling the 718 and 911 combined, Porsche proved that an electric car could deliver a compelling sports car experience, just as the Cayenne did for SUVs. An all-electric 911 still feels years away, though a hybrid model could come sooner than we expected. As you probably know, 911 Hybrid rumors have been floating around for years, but we finally have concrete proof that Porsche is working on it. Autocar recently spotted a 2022 Porsche 911 Turbo prototype on the Nurburgring, wearing a telltale yellow sticker. A yellow sticker is required for all hybrid test vehicles in Germany, meaning this is definitely an early hybrid test mule. Sadly, our spy photographers missed the car s test session, so we hope to have our own photos soon.

We Might See Dodge s EV Muscle Car Next Week

Dodge Fans of Roadkill Nights will know that Dodge likes to show off new products at this rowdy event where eighth-mile drag racing and burnouts draw thousands of spectators. Dodge has not said anything about new product announcements, but according to sources, there will be a few tasty teasers. Dodge CEO told MC&T to tune in July 8 when asked about Dodge s future plans for its muscle car range, and the future of its relationship with the Roadkill Nights. We re not going to show anything new there. We had something that we re trying to get done in time to share right around the Roadkill Nights event. We re probably going to push it to maybe SEMA-ish timeframe, but we will have some pretty interesting stuff July 8. he added.

The Chevy Camaro Is In A Dire Situation

This is a real cause for concern. The Chevrolet Camaro is in trouble. There s no more honest way to put it. The sixth-generation muscle car has been on the market since 2016 and has changed relatively little ever since. By contrast, the sixth-gen Ford Mustang, launched a year before the current Camaro, received a significant facelift for 2018 and numerous other updates since. The Mustang has retained its muscle car sales crown while the Dodge Challenger has scored second place. The Camaro s third-place position is not the only thing that s troubling; it s the fact that its sales numbers are shockingly low. GM Authority examined the sales decline a bit more in-depth and, well, numbers don t lie. Sadly, the Camaro had its worst first-quarter sales in a decade.
