The Member of Parliament(MP) for North Tongu constituency, Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa, has cast doubt on the successfulness of Operation Halt . Operation Halt is a team of over 200 military personnel put together to fight illegal mining popularly known as galamsey in the country and to restore the nation s water bodies to their original form.
The Minister of Defence, Mr Dominic Nitiwul after a third phase of the team s operation revealed that 49 excavators, 228 changfans, 87 water pumping machines, 76 wooden structures were destroyed (during just one exercise).
The exercise was carried out by some 561 military personnel.

By: Rebecca K. Reilly Most of the reading I do comes about because I m desperate to be in the know about the latest literary trends and be a part of the conversation. However, because I hate owning things and never have any money anyway, my reading life takes place at the mercy of the sometimes wildly lengthy Auckland Libraries waitlists. I ve been waiting to read The Girl in the Mirror since October last year and I m still 141 in the queue. It s great to hear so many people are using the libraries - and also terrible for me, personally.
The fact that the issues have been talked about doesn t mean they have been solved, Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has told one of the #FixTheCountry Conveners, Oliver Barker-Vormawor.
Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta at a press conference on Sunday, detailed how the government is fixing the economy through numerous interventions.
Oliver Barker-Vormawor reacting to this in an interview on Joy News said Ghanaians need concrete actions to be taken and not speeches.
“I don’t think people are at the point where they feel or are convinced that this speech alone does it. I think the people want something substantive in action,” he indicated.

She remembers choosing carpet colours and reading building plans from a young age.
Now the 42-year-old owns her own building company. I m a builder s daughter. It s in the blood I guess.
McLean has held roles in kitchen design, commercial office fitouts, carpentry and sales and marketing. Her latest role is running her Katikati company Tiny House Builders, which she started in 2017.
About three and a half years ago, McLean moved from Auckland to Katikati after her tiny home received plenty of interest at a Tauranga Homes Show.
