Announcing the Gender and Sexuality Studies program
Effective July 1, 2021, the University of Calgary’s Women’s Studies program, under the Department of Philosophy, will officially be renamed Gender and Sexuality Studies.
This change was officially declared on March 8 during the International Women’s Day panel which celebrated the Gender and Sexuality Studies program and the continued importance of advancing gender and sexuality scholarship alongside equity, diversity and inclusion across the university. The panelists included UCalgary’s Women Studies program professors Dr. Joe Kadi, Dr. Safaneh Mohaghegh Neyshabouri and Dr. Rebecca Sullivan. They spoke on various topics relating to gender and sexuality, and how it is influenced by factors like society, race and religion.

Lafayette woman battling cancer finishes goal of running on every road in Greater Lafayette
Rebecca Sullivan began her goal of running on each street of Greater Lafayette in 2020. She believes it s what s keeping her alive as she battles Stage-4 cancer.

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) One Lafayette woman battling Stage-4 cervical cancer is bringing light to a dark-diagnosis. Rebecca Sullivan, 66, gave herself the challenge to run every road in Greater Lafayette. After 10 months of running, she officially reached that goal last week. I remember for months waking up and going, oh my God I have Stage-4 cancer, I don t know how long I have to live, said Sullivan.
There will be a new look at the 10th anniversary of the SA Autumn Garden Festival at the Clare Valley Showgrounds.
This year, the two-day event will include a Workshop Day on Saturday, April 17, and the Festival with trade site exhibitors and special guest speakers on Sunday, April 18.
On Saturday there will be cooking demonstrations, titled ‘The Art of a Natural Home’ with the very popular Rebecca Sullivan of Warndu.
Rebecca is a local award-winning author of seven books and founder of Warndu and Granny Skills. She has been dubbed a natural living guru.
This hands-on workshop will incorporate the bounties from your garden into practice for a greener home.
