The Exchange Club of Ridgefield, a community service group, has been hosting an Appreciation Day for the Ridgefield Police (spring) and Fire Dept (fall) for several years at the Leir Retreat Center. However, in 2020, these great events had to be canceled due to Covid-19 regulations. To fill that void, the club wanted to send out emails to Ridgefield residents asking that, if appropriate, they affirm their appreciation and send in any personal comments they may have on that topic.
Ridgefield s email responses were extremely positive about Ridgefield s Police/Fire/EMS with many personal accounts of their professional, friendly, kind service and notes about the many times these first responders coming to their aid in times of personal crisis.

Ridgefield Police Officers Luis and Giglio took some Ridgefield kids shopping as part of the Department s annual Shop with a Cop Program. Of course, they shopped local (at The Toy Chest in downtown Ridgefield!)
Each year during the holidays, Ridgefield Police officers make the season a little brighter for some deserving youths in our community. Police offer their thanks to Dave Carroll, owner of Carroll Construction for supporting this year s event.
The officers are shown here (photo 1) standing with the children in front of The Toy Chest with shop owner Ann Lathrop. A special
Shop with a Cop shoutout to Dave Carroll - the owner of Carroll Construction Corp. - for his generosity in supporting the Shop with a Cop program. Also, to the local businesses for their continued support. Thanks to Officers Giglio and Luis for executing the program, police wrote on their Facebook Page

Ridgefield Grinch s Final Gift of 2020 Proves His Heart Grew Three Sizes Written by HH
Social media (and neighborhoods in Ridgefield) have been buzzing with the spirit of Christmas disguised as a GRINCH! This has been a tough year and Mr. Grinch had a change of
heartwhen it comes to Christmas. Thank you, Mr. Grinch, for spreading holiday cheer and bringing good tidings (and gifts) to the kids of Ridgefield!
Today, Mr. Grinch wrote on his Facebook Page that the Ridgefield Police have been hot on his tail. I feel like they are finally going to catch me! They still think I’m trespassing, and trying to TAKE gifts, rather than GIVE gifts! The Grinch said.
