Solomon named Oak Ridge fire chief - Oak Ridge Today

Oak Ridge Today Posted at The City of Oak Ridge has named Travis Solomon as its new fire chief. Solomon, who previously served as Oak Ridge Fire Department fire marshal, has served as interim fire chief since former Chief Darryl Kerley’s departure in August. Solomon begins serving as fire chief immediately, a press release said. “Oak Ridge has always been the model and leading fire service,” Solomon said in the press release. “I want to continue that and enhance the services we provide to better our ability to serve the public.” Solomon has served with the Oak Ridge Fire Department since February 2016 as fire marshal. In that role, he oversaw many procedures including inspections, plans review, fire investigations, and public education activities, the press release said.

Playing its third game in as many days in the Classic, Covenant (0-3) hung right with UT Dallas (4-0) until the Comets used a big fourth quarter to pull away for the win. East Ridge Moving Ahead With New Camp Jordan Soccer Fields Despite Neighbors Objections Saturday, December 12, 2020 - by Gail Perry The East Ridge City Council meeting was dominated by concerns about the expansion of soccer fields that are under construction in Camp Jordan Park. Assistant City Manager Kenny Custer told the commissioners and residents that came to the meeting in opposition to the project that in the early 2000’s the original concept for that part of the park was to create a regional soccer complex because the location is easily accessible. Drawings were done at that time.   City Manager Chris Dorsey gave the timeline that led up to the construction in response to citizens concerns that the area is too close to their homes that back up to it.
