CALOOCAN CITY, Dec. 30 (PIA) In line with the 124th observance of the martyrdom of National Hero Dr. Jose Rizal today, Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar encouraged all Filipinos to embody the values and principles that defined the great Filipino polymath. We enjoin every Filipino in commemorating the 124th anniversary of the martyrdom of our national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal, Andanar said. May we remain inspired by and continue to embody the values and principles that defined Dr. Jose Rizal - his love for our country, compassion for others, and intellectual prowess - as we collectively heal, recover, and rise as one nation, he added.

“Yes, it’s smuggled. These [vaccines] are not authorized [to enter the country.] Only the government can authorize that through the FDA [Food and Drug Administration],” said Lorenzana during the sidelines of the celebration of the 124th martyrdom anniversary of Dr. Jose Rizal at the Rizal Park in Manila.
Lorenzana further admitted that he already knew about the vaccination of the soldiers long before the issue was made publicly by no less than President Duterte, but he noted that he was unaware who gave the green light to perform the vaccination.

Lorenzana represented President Duterte at the event while the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), served as the host for the flag-raising and wreath-laying ceremonies at the Rizal National Monument.
Lorenzana was accompanied by Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso, National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) Chairman Rene Escalante, and Knight Grand Cross of Rizal (KGCR) Supreme Commander Elihu Ybanez.
