Saturday march postponed
The Black Lives Matter march scheduled for Saturday was postponed until Sunday due to rain in the forecast. Several people arrived at the Statehouse on Saturday expecting to participate in the rally.
Tabitha Price of Columbia arrived at the protest early Saturday carrying a BLM sign which included the names of Black people killed by police officers.

After a viral video showed Jonathan Pentland, a white 42-year-old Army sergeant, accosting and shoving a Black man in a South Carolina neighborhood, he was charged with third-degree assault and suspended from his instructor duties.
Since then, protesters gathered in front of Pentland s home outside of Columbia, and the Pentland family was moved from the house Wednesday evening, police said.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - The Richland County Sheriffâs Department shut down access to a northeast neighborhood after peaceful protests turned âdisruptive.â
Around 8:20 p.m. Wednesday, deputies were dispatched to the home of Jonathan Pentland after receiving reports that it had been vandalized.
Officials found objects had been thrown at the home and through an upstairs window. A light fixture attached to the home was also broken.
