THE founder of an Irish pharmaceutical services company, which has begun trials on a new Covid-19 nasal spray vaccine is Donegal man Cathal Friel.
Mr Friel (57) from Creeslough was a finalist in the International category as part of the EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2020.
He left school after his Junior Cert to work in the family business before going back to education. He completed a City and Guilds Cert in Basic Computer Programming in Letterkenny RTC (LYIT) at night classes and got an MBA from the University of Ulster in 1990.
He spent the following five years lecturing part-time in International Marketing and Business Planning at the University of Ulster, while running his own new technology services business.

Created by Nigel McCrery, this British crime drama centres on forensic pathology experts and premiered back in 1996. It has seen a wide range of talents come aboard over the years, and for the last eight years, audiences have been invited to tuck into a new season every January.

eraldrevealed this week that NSW Health has overhauled its policies so that unaccompanied minors returning to Australia must go into hotel quarantine rather than self-isolate at a private residence, due to the risk posed by new mutant strains of COVID-19.

NSW Health strongly encourages parents or guardians to voluntarily complete hotel quarantine with the children but that is not an option for many expats who live overseas and send their children to boarding school in Australia.
