It is a cause especially close to the Queen’s University, Belfast student’s heart, as she has seen first-hand the work of the Omagh-based animal shelter, who provide love, care and ‘furever’ homes for unwanted and homeless animals across the district. Her beloved dog, Duke, is a leading example of this: When he first arrived at Grovehill, he was in a sorry state: The Spaniel-cross was scared of humans; filthy; matted; and starving.
