CAMBRIDGE A pharmacy in Cambridge administered its first doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine on Monday. Last week, the province expanded its COVID-19 vaccine distribution plan to another 350 pharmacies, including locations in Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge and Guelph. Appointments are available to people over the age of 55. The Shoppers Drug Mart on Dundas Street in Cambridge gave out its first dose on Monday around 9 a.m. Pharmacists there plan to administer 40 doses on Monday. I’ve covered arts and entertainment and written humor columns at The Day for almost a quarter-century. Born Richard Maxwell on November 4, 1929 in London, he also went by the name Richard Bryce but was best known under the stage name Dickie Valentine. At the age of three, he appeared in

He was known to be able to impersonate a number of other singers and while a young boy, was encouraged to take singing lessons by Bill O’Connor – who paid for the lessons himself. While in his late teens, he was performing at the Panama Club and was spotted by music publisher Sid Green who introduced him to Ted Heath – leader of hit British swing band Ted Heath Orchestra. He signed with the band on February 14, which gave him the surname Valentine.

No sector of the performing arts has been unscathed by the COVID-19 pandemic. But I ve been especially concerned about the plight of theater stalwarts, those pioneers and purists who haven t been biding their time in rehearsal rooms, waiting for their Netflix closeups. For directors, playwrights and performance artists whose canvas is the three-dimensional stage, the situation has been unimaginably dire.
