Even if the Detroit Red Wings had a relatively healthy roster, they would have a glaring hole in their second-line center spot.
It was an area of focus entering the season. They tried Robby Fabbri there but soon determined he was a better fit on the wing on Dylan Larkin’s line. Vladislav Namestnikov has played the role at times but hasn’t provided much offense and isn’t a long-term solution.
