Tory candidates for next year s Senedd election were asked how they would vote in a referendum to abolish the Welsh Parliament, as part of a party selection process.
It was one of three questions asked of all prospective Tory candidates for the South Wales Central regional list.
One party source dismissed it as random , but another said it showed the party s strong abolish streak .
The Welsh Conservatives declined to comment.
But the Tories Senedd leader Paul Davies said it was Labour-run governments that have been a disaster for devolution in Wales .

Footpath closed A RIVERSIDE footpath in Monmouthshire has been closed as a matter of emergency following an increase in the number of walkers straying into a neighbouring firing range. Monmouthshire County Council has recently issued the emergency closure of the Severnside Range footpath, close to the Severn near Caldicot. The closure has been made on health and safety grounds following an increasing number of walkers not keeping to the designated path and walking on top of the sea wall, straying into the neighbouring privately-run firing range, putting themselves in danger. “The Severnside Range footpath poses many complex challenges,” said Councillor Richard John, Cabinet Member for Monlife.
