Investigation into VMI slow to get off the ground, report says

The independent investigation of the Virginia Military Institute is beset with delays, significantly slowing its progress, according to investigators’ first monthly report. Investigators blamed the military college itself for several of the delays. In particular, the two groups have disagreed on the extent to which VMI’s counsel should be present for meetings and interviews. In response, VMI spokesman Bill Wyatt said the report “takes an interesting tone.” “To date, we have turned over thousands of pages of documents and are working to provide more,” he said in a statement to The Roanoke Times. “We continue to work through a number of issues. . VMI continues to be responsive to Barnes & Thornburg’s requests and want [to] assist them in any way possible.”

Repetitions, repetitive redundancies | News, Sports, Jobs

Vignettes At my age, I need to start my day with a few repetitions, though they’re not the sort you might imagine. I admire those hardy folks who slide out of bed, moving smoothly into the push-up position before doing a few repetitions. But that’s not the way I wake up, and those aren’t the repetitions that bring me ’round to face the day: “Up, Up, Up It’s Time to Get Up! These are the repetitions that get me upright, but it doesn’t stop there, repetition-wise. I continue to rely on redundancies to smooth my stride over the bumps so common in a typical day’s travel.
