Bernard Parker and Reeve Frosler have become the first Chiefs players to be named in the continental club championship s best XI in a game-week. Parker and Frosler both starred in Amakhosi s impressive 1-0 win over Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club at FNB Stadium on Saturday evening. The 35-year-old, who donned the captain s armband, bagged the all-important goal that separated the two sides to give the Soweto giants a fighting chance to reach the quarterfinals.

Image: Samuel Shivambu/BackpagePix/Gallo Images Mamelodi Sundowns preserved their unbeaten record in Group B of the 2020-21 Caf Champions League, but dropped their first points, drawing 0-0 against Sudan’s Al-Hilal at Al-Hilal Stadium in Omdurman on Friday. Sundowns had already qualified and confirmed first place with rampant form taking them to four wins from four, including their 2-0 victory against Hilal in the first round in Pretoria. Next challengers Hilal had three points (which went to four with the draw on Friday), Algeria’s CR Belouizdad also three, and Democratic Republic of the Congo’s TP Mazembe just two.

South Africa Under-23 team complete successful training camp in eThekwini 1 April 2021-   The South African under-23 National team have completed a one-week training camp in eThekwini. The camp which was funded by the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Sport and Recreation is part of the preparations for the delayed Tokyo Olympics now scheduled to take place in Tokyo, Japan from 23 July-8 August 2021. Going into the camp, under-23 coach David Notoane had stated that the camp was important in enhancing technical understanding, assessing new players to see how they adjust as well as what each player had to offer to the team.
