Bridenstine is joining an Oklahoma City-based private equity firm that invests in aerospace, defense and intelligence.
Acorn Growth Companies said Bridenstine will work there as a full-time senior advisor.
Bridenstine calls it “a new chapter of service to the United States.”
The company said Bridenstine will return to Tulsa as Acorn “expands its footprint in one of the top seven aerospace regional super-clusters in the world.”

Jan. 25 Jim Bridenstine, the former congressman from Tulsa who led NASA while the agency developed its latest mission to return humans to the moon and expanded its commercial space program, has taken a job with Oklahoma City-based Acorn Growth Companies.
Acorn is a private equity firm investing exclusively in aerospace, defense and intelligence. They use investment funds to buy companies, taking a controlling interest and often partnering with the original owners to grow the business. Bridenstine will serve as senior adviser after leaving NASA Jan. 20.
