We continue our look at the music of 50 years agoâ¦.
A good live record, and there were many in the 1970âs, should give you a good idea how the particular band or artist would sound if you coughed up the bucks to see them in concert. Not the same of course. Nothing beats the sound and feel of live music. Especially blues-rock when itâs played with high energy. The bass and drums hit you right in the breast bone while the guitar wails and moans and cuts a path across your cerebelum directly to the portion of your brain that says âhave a good timeâ. So today we visit one of those LPâs. Itâs guitarist Johnny Winter and his band with âLive-Johnny Winter Andâ.
When the poet came to Union City

Among the restoration projects now occurring in Union City, one of the more historically significant renovations is the conversion of a long-abandoned factory on West Oak Street to a residence building called the Backstay Lofts.
You’d now recognize the place by its broken windows, dilapidated appearance, and, in particular, the water tower perched atop part of the roof.
Soon, it will be a spiffy jewel in the city’s near-downtown.
The partners Crestline Construction and AP Development LLC are turning the building into 50 apartments. The bottom floor will have space reserved for commercial enterprises.
Fans around the world were shocked and saddened when they learned that Eddie Van Halen died on October 6, 2020, after years of battling cancer. It was obvious that Van Halen the band was not going to continue after the death of one of the most influential hard rock guitar players in history and the main driving force of the band.
After Edward’s death, his son Wolfgang Van Halen has released several singles and two music videos with his new band called Mammoth WVH with a planned debut album to be released on June 11; Wolfgang has also hinted that he and Eddie’s brother and bandmate Alex Van Halen might release some unheard material from the Van Halen vault in the future.
