The Southwest Michigan Regional Chamber has announced its nominees for the annual chamber awards this year. Several of them take into account the COVID-19 pandemic. The chamber has released the following:
The Southwest Michigan Regional Chamber is proud to announce the nominees for their annual chamber awards to be presented at the 2021 Business Recognition Event on March 10
th.
This year, the Chamber has added a new Pandemic Excellence category to specifically recognize businesses and organizations who managed to stand out in their industry and step up for their community, despite the unprecedented challenges brought on by COVID-19. Five new awards will be given in that category, along with the traditional five Organizational Excellence awards.

Synopsis:

Reevaluating the metrics
The Jackson County Board of Commissioners and the Medford School District are doing what they can to try to get students to return to in person learning.

MEDFORD, Ore. - The Jackson County Board of Commissioners and the Medford School District are doing what they can to try to get students to return to in person learning.
They are trying to get governor brown to re-evaluate the metrics so students can go back to school.
Last week the school district’s board of directors passed a resolution asking Governor Brown to do just that.
