The Florida Gators released their 2021 spring roster ahead of practices starting on Thursday. Some Gators lost big while others gained big.
Here we will go over the biggest changes fall to spring.
Offense
OL Richie Leonard lost 12 pounds going from 347 to 335
OL Josh Braun put on 12 from 340 to 352
OL Ethan White jumped from 335 to 346
OL T.J. Moore went from 300 to 309
Most of Florida’s offensive gains and losses were made on the offensive line, a unit that struggled a season ago. White’s weight gain stands out a bit here considering he worked to lose more than 60 pounds after he got on campus, but this could be linked to the knee injury that kept him off the field for much of the 2020 season.

Dan Mullen is about to enter his 13th season as a head football coach. He has grown and evolved over the years as anyone who wants to excel at a profession must.
If there’s one thing that hasn’t changed about him, however, it’s a demonstrated preference for experience and seniority. At almost every position on the field, the older players tend to start and play ahead of the younger ones.
Mullen of late has gotten good about rotating youth into the lineup at opportune times to minimize the number of experience cliffs caused by graduation and draft declarations. He also isn’t completely strict about following seniority to the exclusion of all else, as can be seen by some of the oldest players on the roster like Rick Wells and T.J. Moore solely serving as reserves so far. On the flip side of the equation, Ethan White got to play as a true freshman late in 2019 despite older interior linemen being around.

With spring football finally in sight, Gator Country is here to get you through these final few days until the Gators are back on the gridiron.
Before Florida football returns, we will preview where each position group stands as the team transitions into 2021. Moving onto wide receivers and tight ends, we will give an in-depth look at who returns, players to watch and pose three questions we need answered before the end of spring.
The Gators had some big-time departures across the board, but have potential to replace the talent and continue on the path of success.
Florida’s offense will be under full reconstruction mode throughout the spring. Though the receiver rooms won’t quite be full yet, this is the time to build up some of the less experienced guys who will be big this fall.

With the spring semester starting on Monday, the Florida Gators welcomed early enrollees to campus over the last several days.
Currently the No. 12 recruiting class in the nation, the Gators had 12 signees enroll early, along with the addition of a pair of transfers.
As we count down the months to spring football, Gator Country will take a look at how Florida’s early enrollees fit into their new roles, starting with the offensive side of the ball.
Carlos Del Rio-Wilson (QB)
The headlining quarterback signee in Florida’s 2021 class, Del Rio-Wilson has outstanding potential in the coming years. However, he will likely have to wait his turn to get on the field.
