Solidarity with Israel
After years of cowardly following European consensus of disrespecting and attacking the Jewish State, Dutch PM Mark Rutte has voiced his support to PM Benjamin Netanyahu so well that the latter thanked him publicly. This together with thanking Angela Merkel, whom Rutte recently praised as Europe’s conscience. Rutte earlier made headlines by being the first Dutch PM to admit and apologize for complicity of the Dutch authorities and civil servants in helping and not hindering the Nazis executing the Holocaust. Sadly, the support was short-lived.

Eurovision in Rotterdam
On a lighter note, the Dutch are going full-speed ahead with the 65th Eurovision contest to be broadcasted from Rotterdam. Its proud and relaxed Muslim Mayor Ahmed Aboutaleb officially opened the endeavor. The highly kitschy event is famous, even more than international sports, for fostering international respect and love. Here is the first 2-hour clip.
