Why did you start Baea? I grew up in the textile industry. My grandfather manufactured textiles and my mother had a boutique that was all about bringing in really good-quality homeware, which then pivoted into bedding and bath. In my 20s, I worked for Ralph Lauren Home, sourcing products. I ve opened retail stores and worked for different companies - and I could see an opportunity for bedding with more minimal designs inspired by nature. When I thought about a name, I thought about what home means to me. I grew up between two bays - Repulse Bay and Deep Water Bay - and that s what signifies a place of sanctuary for me. We played on the word bay and softened it to the brand.
Ralph Lauren's new bedding collection for 2021, the Heritage Icons line, takes its cues from the buttons, pleats, checks, and stitching of classic menswear.

The house was a tear-down. But the owners of this Quogue, New York property, a New York City–based couple with three kids who would be using the place as a weekend home, had bought architectural plans for a rebuild. All they needed was a designer to help them bring the new vision to life. Wills Design Associates
They found Lauren Wills on Instagram. ( The power of social media! she laughs.) Her colorful, relaxed approach to decorating was just what the project needed: Wills was able to edit the plans for the six-bedroom, 10,000-square-foot retreat to create a layout and interiors that were ideal for the family of five.
