Founded in 1930 by Sidney Bernstein, Granada has always been based in Manchester. It was awarded the contract to produce commercial television shows for the north of England in 1954 and was once described as “the best commercial television company in the world.” Shows including Coronation Street, the Royle Family, The Krypton Factor and World in Action have come out of Granada. It is set to move to MediaCityUK in 2013.
