She said: To lose both your parents and to lose both of them to COVID, which neither of them had symptoms for, has been really really horrific. Knowing people have been supporting and knowing how fond people were of both my parents is amazing and it s so lovely to read the things people are putting - and people are sending cards and everything. It is a strange time because of restrictions on funerals and everything else but just all those people that have contacted us we really really appreciate your kind words.

Isle Of Wight Athletics Community Mourns Another Sad Loss

Ray, who was very well-known in sport across the Island, died just over two weeks ago.
But now, his beloved wife, Rose, who was also a key figure in Island athletics for many years, has died at St Mary s Hospital.
A poignant tribute has been posted on Facebook by athletics coach, Nick Groocock and the Island Games Association.
It reads: It is with a heavy heart that once again I am the bearer of very sad news, on Tuesday Rose Scovell passed away at St Mary s, two weeks to the day after we lost Ray.
