Right now in South Texas, the increase of people illegally crossing the border isn't just affecting law enforcement. Local landowners and ranchers are daily dealing with uninvited guests trespassing on their property, breaking into their homes and sheds, and damaging their gates and fences.
The most Iowa thing ever. The Athletic has an article in which old coaches are interviewed abut their recruiting stories. It starts off by asking about the biggest recruiting wins these guys ever had, and it's a litany of names you know: Orlando Pace, Jadeveon Clowney, Ray Lewis, Champ Bailey. And then you get to former ISU head coach Dan McCarney, who was an assistant at Iowa:
the one that had as much to do with us turning the program around at Iowa was Reggie Roby. … It came down to Iowa vs. Wisconsin at midnight the night before signing day. …I felt at the time he might have as much to do with us turning that program around as anybody we could sign. In 1981, we had one of the best defenses in the country, and offense, that was OK. And we had Reggie Roby flipping the field like nobody had seen in decades. In my career, the two best punters I’d ever seen were Ray Guy and Reggie Roby.

There s a lot to like about Johnson. At 6 2 and 240 pounds he has pretty good size for the position, his athleticism is apparent on tape, and he proved it at his pro day with a 4.57 40 time (5th among draft eligible linebackers) and a 4.03 shuttle time (2nd). As a run defender, Johnson uses incredible play recognition and natural instincts to fly to the ball carrier. His pass coverage isn t on the same level as his run defense but he s pretty good in zone coverage at shadowing guys underneath and reading the quarterback s eyes. And he has the athleticism to man up on tight ends when asked to do so. I wasn t overly happy with this pick at first but after looking at his tape it s easily one of my favorites. I think there s a good chance that he s the starter by the end of the year and I m excited to see him and Bush play together.
