Magic coach Steve Clifford has returned a positive COVID-19 test, per Shams Charania of The Athletic. Charania says that Clifford has received his first vaccine and is considered asymptomatic, and there’s hope that the test result is a false positive. Results of the tests are considered inconclusive, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Magic canceled Saturday’s practice, according to Roy Parry of The Orlando Sentinel, but a team official said they are hopeful they can play Sunday’s game against the Pacers.
Clifford held a Zoom call with reporters and said he has no COVID-19 symptoms and feels fine, per Josh Robbins of The Athletic. Clifford said he had a positive test Thursday night, followed by two negative tests Friday and another positive this morning. He underwent another test on Saturday and will be tested again Sunday morning.

After his unbeaten Synergy women’s team suffered their first loss of the season to the Lady Hawks on Saturday, Neville “Sheep” Smith returned to the E. Walwyn Brewley Softball Park on Sunday, fired a 3-hit shutout and Storm disrupted Power Outage following and earlier setback, as both league leaders fell in VI Softball Baseball Association Atoms-Astros Softball League.
“Well it’s a well deserved win for the team. I must commend Sheep, he pitched a master game there,” player Coach Allen “Woodrow” Smith told Island Sun Sports following his team’s 5-0 victory over Power Outage. “We know we have it in us, we just have to stay consistent, stay with the hitting, the hitting is key for our team right now, because that used to be our weakest point, we’re finding ourselves now and we’re in contention.”
