1 percent of Alabamians just tested positive for COVID in December Updated Dec 15, 2020; Through the first 14 days of December, 48,371 people in Alabama have tested positive for the coronavirus. That’s 1 percent of the state’s population. Before December, during the rest of the pandemic, 6 percent of Alabamians had tested positive for the virus. Data from the Alabama Department of Public Health shows 60 of Alabama’s 67 counties have seen at least 1 percent of their populations test positive so far this month. December’s case total represents 16 percent of Alabama’s total so far. And that’s after just 14 days.
