Egypt s plans to attract significant foreign investment in its garment and textile manufacturing sectors have been delayed due to the fallout from the Covid-19 pandemic – prompting the government to step in to spur development.
The government s Vision 2025 strategy had targeted attracting some US$17.5bn in foreign investment to quadruple textile and garment exports. But with the pandemic leaving the global clothing sector in the doldrums – and Egypt s exports down 20% last year – the government has earmarked some US$600m in public money to be invested in two tranches this year.

Project to improve logistics and to increase trade competitiveness in Egypt
Funded by the EBRD Infrastructure Project Preparation Facility As a country with a growing population and economy, Egypt needs urgent investment in its infrastructure capacity to alleviate the pressure on existing ports, shipment points and trade centres. New facilities are required to reduce congestion, allow for a better distribution of goods and let trade flow freely. A key element in this chain are dry ports, inland intermodal terminals directly connected by road or rail to a seaport, operating as centres for the shipment of sea cargo to inland destinations. Egypt’s latest transport master plan calls for the development of nine dry port and logistics centres throughout the country under public-private partnership (PPP) structures.

New Delhi/India – Nuberg EPC has been awarded a 500 TPD Sulfuric Acid Plant project on Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) & Lump Sum Turnkey (LSTK) basis in Egypt. The project, which was awarded during the pandemic, is owned by Sprea Misr, a leading chemicals and plastics manufacturer in Ramadan City, Egypt. Nuberg EPC will be the single-point solution company responsible from concept to commissioning of the project. It is also the g
