Andhra Ministers complain to Assembly Speaker against SEC over libelous remarks, seek action for breach of privilege ANI | Updated: Jan 31, 2021 00:22 IST
The SEC had written a letter to the state Governor on Friday seeking action against state Government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy for alleged political attacks against him. In the same letter, Kumar also made remarks about Ramachandra Reddy and Satyanarayana.
Both ministers condemned the SEC s remarks as castigated, libelous, far from truth and intimidating.
The ministers further said that the allegations of the SEC that they crossed the Lakshman Rekha of model code of conduct, were made without substantial proof and amounted to breach of privilege .

Amaravati: YSRCP leaders came down heavily on Chandrababu Naidu for releasing Party manifesto for Panchayat Elections going against the constitutional guidelines and trying to create a chaotic atmosphere in villages.
Speaking to the media at Tirupati on Thursday, Minister for Panchayat Raj, Peddireddi Ramachandra Reddy flayed TDP Chief Chandrababu over releasing a manifesto for panchayat elections which are not being held by Party symbols.
He questioned who has given the right to release a manifesto while the Code is in force and stated that Chandrababu has been conspiring to create havoc in the panchayats, while the State government has been encouraging unanimous elections. He said that Chandrababu was a leader who could not get a majority even in his own district and was criticized for never working for the people. The Minister said that Chandrababu Naidu has no moral right to speak about Dr.

Panchayat Raj Minister Peddireddi Ramachandra Reddy has taken exception to the remarks allegedly made by State Election Commissioner N. Ramesh Kumar on unanimous elections for the local bodies.
In a statement on Wednesday, Mr. Ramachandra Reddy said the SEC was picking holes in the government’s appeal for “peace, brotherhood, and friendliness” among people in the villages. The statement was not political as was perceived by the SEC, he added.
The government announced financial incentives to encourage unanimous elections and, thereby, enable gram panchayats to concentrate on development work.

Vijayawada: The state government on Tuesday enhanced incentives for the unanimous election of sarpanches and ward members in gram panchayats.
With Opposition parties raising a hue and cry against unanimous elections, dubbing them as acts of coercion by the ruling party, the state government sought to clarify that successive governments have been incentivising the display of unity by the villagers by electing their representatives unopposed.
