Three ruling passions in Branden “Chef B-Doe” Jackson’s life appear to be cooking, 1990s hip-hop music and Peoria basketball. When he decided to open a restaurant in East Peoria last month, all three pursuits found a place in his bill of fare.
“I thought mixing the three together was a match made in heaven,” Jackson said.
As the name would indicate, wRap City’s specialty is wraps, in a variety that ranges from jerked chicken to vegan. Hip-hop songs and artists inspire the names of the wraps, and artwork of basketball stars like Howard Nathan, A.J. Guyton and Shaun Livingston feature prominently in the décor.
