Residents of northeast Norman who use the Norman Public Water Supply are now under a boil notice from the city due to E. coli in the drinking water, the city warned late Friday.
While Norman is still investigating the source of the E. coli, the city has indefinitely placed residents who live north of Robinson Street and east of Flood Avenue on a boil notice. The notice also applies to restaurants and food facilities in the area.Â
The notice only impacts those who use the Norman Public Water Supply, and only residents in that specific area of the city. Those who rely on well water or another water supply will not be affected, the city said in a news release.Â

Ahead of future park improvement projects, residents will see construction begin on the proposed Senior Wellness Center and the Indoor Aquatics and Multi-Sport Center.
Financial Services Director Anthony Francisco said Tuesday night that the two projects are ânearing the starting line of dirt flying and construction starting.â
The senior center will be located at the southeast corner of N. Findlay Avenue and E. Rich Street, and is part of the voter-approved Norman Forward Sales Tax.

One hailstorm is bad enough, but a trio of hailstorms striking three separate metropolitan areas in one night is virtually unheard of. Baseball- to softball-sized hail pummeled parts of Texas and Oklahoma Wednesday night, slamming places around Fort Worth, San Antonio and Oklahoma City, including Norman.
The cost will almost certainly exceed a billion dollars. Hail has historically been the most costly severe weather hazard in the Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex, and Wednesday night s storms illustrate why.
