Semi driver dies in Tri-State Tollway crash near 95th Street By Sun-Times Media Wire article A 41-year-old Plano man died after crashing his semitrailer Tuesday morning on Interstate 294, shut down most lanes of traffic for more than five hours. The man was identified as Floyd D. Davidson by the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He failed to slow down while approaching traffic and rear-ended another semi stopped in the right-center lane near Roberts Road, north of 95th Street, according to Illinois State Police spokesperson Jayme Bufford. The crash caused that semi to strike a third semi at about 3:45 a.m., Bufford said.

(WLS) One person has died after a semi-trailer rear-ended another semi-trailer on the northbound Tri-State Tollway Tuesday morning, causing several lanes to be blocked to traffic for hours, Illinois State Police said. The crash occurred at about 3:46 a.m. near Roberts Road south of the 83rd Street Toll Plaza. Illinois State Police said the driver of one of the semis, a 41-year-old man from Plano, died in the crash. Traffic was orginally being diverted at 95th Street. Lane closures remained in effect for hours after the crash.
