Carlee Simon, a public schools activist, will be interim superintendent for Alachua County Public Schools.  In the special meeting held Friday afternoon over Zoom and YouTube live, school board members voted 3-2 to appoint Simon as the new interim superintendent, after board members voted for the immediate dismissal of current superintendent Karen Clarke.  Simon, a member of the Alachua County Education Task Force and adjunct faculty member with the University of North Florida College of Education and Human Services, told members of the board that she understood that she is not “a traditional person for this position.”  Described as new voice for county schools
