Serhant’s upstart brokerage has replaced Elliman as the sales and marketing team for Quay Tower, developed by RAL Companies and Oliver’s Realty Group. The event on Saturday documented on Serhant’s personal and professional Instagram accounts, was intended to drum up social media interest in the property.

New COVID rules uncover hopes of life without masks in Ventura County

View Comments In between bites of shrimp and chips, Barbara Messer waved her hand at the double face coverings tucked in her purse. We re eating right now or else we d be wearing masks, she said on a sunny  Wednesday, sitting outdoors with her husband at the Ventura Pier. The Messers received their final COVID-19 vaccination shots more than a month ago. According to U.S. Centers for Disease and Control Prevention guidelines released Tuesday, they and other fully vaccinated people no longer need masks outdoors unless they re in a crowd. Some people who have been gulping air through paper and cotton for 14 months interpret the news as light at the end of a tunnel. The Messers, who worry about mutated strains of the virus, are trying to make the sure the light isn t a train.

Guest column: Health care plan takes physicians, patients out of equation

Guest column: Health care plan takes physicians, patients out of equation Letters from readers As a physician, I am privy to the devastating toll that high out-of-pocket costs have on my patients. No one should have to worry about going broke to pay for medication. Desperate to tackle rising drug costs, lawmakers are discussing a host of ideas. But some of their well-intentioned schemes come with serious side effects. Unfortunately, a measure that s once again gaining traction in Congress H.R.3, or the Elijah E. Cummings Lower Drug Costs Now Act falls into this category. Democratic lawmakers are hinting that they may revive H.R.3 by incorporating it into an upcoming infrastructure bill, which they could fast-track via the special legislative process known as budget reconciliation. Since this process only requires a simple majority to pass, H.R.3 could end up on the president s desk without bipartisan support.
