Police ID pedestrian killed crossing Jolly Road

LANSING – Police Monday identified a 60-year-old Lansing man who was struck by a vehicle and killed last week.
David Allen Sprague, of Lansing, died Friday morning after he was struck by a vehicle as he attempted to cross West Jolly Road at Stafford Avenue Thursday night, according Robert Merritt, public information director for the Lansing Police Department. A 43-year-old woman was driving westbound when she hit Sprague.
Sprague died Friday morning from injuries suffered during the crash.

Police: Man charged in fatal shooting of Larry Fields, 60, last month in Lansing

LANSING – A 30-year-old Lansing man has been charged in connection with the shooting death of Larry Willis Fields last month on Climax Street.
The suspect s name was being withheld pending an arraignment hearing Saturday, Lansing Police Public Information Director Robert Merritt said in a news release.
The man is charged with murder, felony firearm possession and being a felon in possession of a firearm, Merritt said.
Fields, 60, of Lansing, was shot on the night of April 21 in the 1100 block of Climax Street. Officers tried to revive Fields, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
LANSING Lansing police have determined a man found outside a burning townhouse Wednesday morning died by homicide.
Police and fire departments were called at about 4 a.m. Wednesday to the 4100 block of Woodbridge Drive for a report of a fire, Capt. Rob Backus wrote in a news release.
They found a man outside the residence and tried to administer aid, but he was declared dead at the scene, Backus wrote.
Police now believe the man s death was the result of a homicide, Public Information Director Robert Merritt said. The man has not been identified and investigators are working to identify him and determine what events led up to his death.
Lansing police identify man, woman killed in weekend homicide
Police found Kelsey Cross Coon-Lennon, 29, and Harley Thomas Owens, 39, dead in a residence in the 600 block of Baker Street at about 2 a.m. Saturday, according to a news release from the Lansing Police Department.
Public Information Director Robert Merritt said he was unsure of what relationship, if any, the two had. Both are from Lansing.
No arrests had been made as of Monday morning and the investigation is ongoing.
Police responded to the Baker Street home on a report of a shooting, according to a news release.
“This is truly a tragedy, said Lansing Police Chief Daryl Green in the release. LPD will leverage every resource and partnership it has to hold accountable any persons involved, as a community we owe this to the victims and their families.
