Cuomo Defends New York s Response After NY Post Report on Nursing Home Deaths

Cuomo Defends New York’s Response After NY Post Report on Nursing Home Deaths New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Feb. 15 responded to the growing criticism of his handling of the CCP virus situation in the state’s nursing homes, coming after several reports were published that suggested the administration attempted to delay the release of COVID-19 death information from state-run health care facilities. “The New York State Department of Health fully and publicly reported all COVID deaths in nursing homes and hospitals. They have always been fully reported,” Cuomo said during a news conference. “We paused the state legislature’s request. We voluntarily complied with the [Department of Justice’s] request for information. Two very different things.”

Democratic Lawmaker Demands Andrew Cuomo s Emmy Award Be Rescinded Over Nursing Home Cover-Up

15 Feb 2021 A Democratic lawmaker in New York is demanding that Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s (D) Emmy Award be rescinded following allegations that the governor covered up the true extent of nursing home deaths during the coronavirus pandemic in an effort to avoid a federal investigation. Queens Councilman Robert Holden (D) urged the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences to take back Cuomo’s award, saying that the governor’s actions “have been an insult to every New Yorker who lost a loved one” to the coronavirus. Cuomo received the Emmy in November in recognition of his daily televised press briefings during the height of the pandemic. During the virtual ceremony, Hollywood elites came out to salute the governor, including Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller, Billy Joel, and Spike Lee.

74 NYC Restaurants Call On Cuomo to Open Indoor Dining at Half Capacity

Serena Dai/Eater 74 NYC restaurants file a motion to reopen at half capacity A group of 74 NYC restaurants including East Williamsburg bar Our Wicked Lady and Bushwick spot Momo Sushi Shack have filed an emergency motion calling on a New York judge to issue an injunction allowing them to reopen indoor dining at half capacity. The motion is part of an ongoing lawsuit that the restaurants filed against Gov. Andrew Cuomo, the state of New York, Mayor Bill de Blasio, and the city of New York, last month, over what they argued were unpredictable regulations that were costing them thousands of dollars.

Bureaucracy kills! Health care workers say they re screwed

Communist Mayor de Blasio’s New York City limited health workers from giving out all available coronavirus vaccines in hopes of balancing out a supply shortage from last week. So, they’re not going out. It could be Cuomo’s policy. That’s unclear. What is clear is it is a problem with regulations and bureaucracy. So, the vaccines just sit around until they expire? They do expire and get thrown out. Some have already been thrown out in New York City. Health care workers say they’re “screwed.” The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, which oversees the city’s immunization drive, restricted the number of available vaccination appointments across 15 pop-up sites and forbade workers from reaching out to community groups in order to give out more shots, according to a report by New York Magazine’s Intelligencer.
