Share FOR obvious reasons, the demolition of a facility called Asher Kings and Queens Restaurant and Lounge located at Sabon Tasha in Kaduna, Kaduna State by the state government on December 31, 2020 has refused to leave the radar of public commentary. The state government demolished the facility on the heels of a widely condemned poster which appeared on social media inviting attendees to a “Kaduna Sex Party.” A statement issued on January 1 by the Kaduna State Urban Planning and Development Agency (KASUPDA) on behalf of the state government said that it demolished the structure because it was billed to host the alleged party. It said: “KASUPDA has demolished Asher Hotel in Barnawa Kaduna South. Asher Hotel was the proposed venue for the Kaduna Sex Party. The hotel was also caught contravening the Covid-19 guidelines of the state. KASUPDA will not hesitate to demolish properties used for such immoral acts.”

He is the husband of Aisha Yakubu, owner of Asher Kings and Queens Restaurant, the purported venue. Others were those operating the restaurant, the staff, and customers who organised the party. They were sued before Magistrate Benjamin Nok of the Magistrate Court for allegedly flouting COVID-19 protocols and acting immorally. The prosecution stated that the nude party had already begun when policemen arrived at the scene. According to the charge, credible information was received at Sabon Tasha Police Station about a sex party to hold at Asher Guest Lounge located at Court Road, Sabon Tasha in Chikun Local Government Area at about 19:00 hours.

Among those arraigned on Thursday was the spokesman for the Peoples Democratic Party in  Kaduna, Abraham Alberah, who is also the husband of Aisha Yakubu, the owner of Asher Kings and Queens Restaurant – the purported venue of the aborted sex party scheduled to hold on December 27, 2020. Others were those operating the restaurant, the staff working there, and the customers who organised the party.

By Seun Adeuyi Mrs. Aisha Mercy Yakubu, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the demolished Asher Kings and Queens Restaurant, allegedly accused of organising a sex party, has threatened to sue Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna State over acts of victimisation. The demolished property is owned by wife of Mr. Albera Abraham Caltoh, spokesman of Kaduna State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The property, located off Court Road, Sabon Tasha by Kachia Road in Kaduna, was pulled down by the Kaduna State Urban Planning and Development Authority (KASUPDA). In a statement on Friday entitled “THE REAL STORY OF ASHER KINGS AND QUEENS RESTAURANT KADUNA, THE FACILITY DEMOLISHED BY THE STATE GOVERNMENT ON THE ALLEGATIONS OF HOSTING A SEX PARTY. (The facility was never a hotel or guess house),” Mrs. Yakubu, said the restaurant had existed for more than seven years was registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
