One of the Queen s relatives celebrated her birthday this past weekend, as Zenouska Mowatt, the granddaughter of the Queen s beloved cousin and confidante Princess Alexandra of Kent, turned 31.
Sharing pictures of the chic party on Instagram, Zen, as she is known to friends, showed off her sweet personalised balloons and birthday cake (reading Zennie Babes ), celebrating with a handful of close friends. The social set were quick to send their birthday wishes, with Kinvara Balfour and Tiffy Pettifer (formerly Legge-Bourke, the nanny of Prince William and Prince Harry) among the commenters.

The 31-year-old is the only daughter of Princess Alexandra s daughter Marina Ogilvy and her former husband Paul Mowatt. She has one younger brother, Christian. While for all intents and purposes, the Royal Family only recognises the first 40 in the line of succession, Zen is officially 61st. She currently works as Head of Marketing for royal-warrant holder Halcyon Days.

John Kay, who has died aged 77, was one of the journalists to seal the success of the tabloid Sun newspaper with a remarkable tally of exclusives and was widely regarded as the best reporter on Fleet Street.
Among the scoops he liked to call his “belters” were the first picture of the Moors murderer Myra Hindley outside prison and his revelation in 2000 that an MI5 spy had lost a laptop containing classified information on Northern Ireland at a London Tube station.
For some years he covered the royal beat, revealing in 1987 that a tearful Prince Edward had quit the Royal Marines during training. But Kay reckoned his finest hour was the publication in the Sun, two days in advance in December 1992, of the Queen’s entire “Annus Horribilis” Christmas speech in which she reflected on the fire at Windsor Castle and the marital rift between the Prince and Princess of Wales.
Former Sun chief reporter John Kay died at the weekend, prompting a huge outpouring of appreciation from former colleagues.
Kay retired from The Sun after a 48-year career in journalism in 2015 after being acquitted of conspiracy to commit misconduct in public office under Operation Elveden. All 33 journalists arrested and/or charged under Elveden who pleaded not guilty were acquitted.
But some 32 public officials were convicted, including Kay’s Ministry of Defence source Bettina Jordan-Barber.
Friends said Kay never recovered from the Elveden trial and the fact that his source was exposed by the company. Many also spoke today of his kindness, generosity and prodigious scoop-getting abilities.
